信用證由于可以先發(fā)貨并且有銀行承兌，對買賣雙方都有保障，所以信用證是深受我們進出口雙方的喜愛，目前用證付款方式為當前國際貿易中進出口商均容易接受的一種主要付款方式。我們先來看一份信用證樣本：

Evidencing transportation of Machines and spare parts as per pro-forma invoice number 657 dated January 3, 2006 from Tampa, Florida to Paris, France not late than March 15,2006- CIP INCOTERMS 1990.

Partial shipment is allowed.

Transshipment is allowed.

Documents to be presented within 10 days after the date of the transport documents but within the validity of the credit.

We hereby engage with drawers and/or bona fide holders that drafts drawn and negotiated in conformity with the terms of Credit will be fully honored on presentation. The number and the date of the Credit and the name of our bank must be quoted on all drafts required.

貨物為：機械零部件，根據(jù)2006年1月3日開出的編號為657的形式發(fā)票，從坦帕，弗洛里達州運到法國巴黎，不遲于2006年3月15日。貿易術語為CIP,根據(jù)1990年國際貿易術語解釋通則版本。

允許分批裝運。

允許中途轉運。

單據(jù)必須在裝船日后的10天內交出。但（交單日）無論如何必須在信用證的有效期之內

我們在此向善意持票人承諾，一旦交出符合信用證條款的單據(jù)和匯票，我們將保證付款。本銀行的名稱、本信用證的號碼和開證日期必須在摘錄所要求的匯票當中去

但是我相信我們做過信用證的都知道，信用證幾乎是不可能一次性通過的，需要不停的修改，我們會由于這樣或那樣的原因，審查信用證后，發(fā)現(xiàn)信用證和簽訂的合同條款不相符合。那么這個時候我們就需要去說服客戶接受我們修改信用證的要求，我們一定要比較委婉的跟客戶提出。我們下面就來看一下一份郵件樣本：

Dear Sir:

It has been found in your L/C that the amount is USD1,000 short as against the total value of the S/C, we hope you will immediately approach your bank to increase the L/C amount by USD1,000.

Please note that unless we could receive your amendment advice by the end of this month we shall be unable to ship the goods before 31 Octomber and an extension of another month will be unavoidable.
